As a travel photographer I have been very lucky and have visited some of the worlds most wonderful cities

Seeing the largest and grandest cities however isn't always what travelling is all about

Sometimes it is about visiting smaller places and enjoying what they have to offer

Generally the people are more friendly and the welcome is therefore far greater

On a recent visit to Leipzig and Dresden in Germany I was very lucky to visit one of the smaller towns

It is called Plauen

It isn't huge but the reception I received was simply wonderful

I hope you enjoy my pictures of this delightful town

I stayed at a superb hotel called the Alexandra Hotel

It is not expensive and is situated right in the middle of town.  The food and the rooms are excellent and staff made every effort to make me feel welcome and did everything they could to guide me around this enchanting town

If you are ever in Dresden or Leipzig a side trip to Plauen is something I would highly recommend
